Swimming at Q E ll

This term, we have swimming for the first two weeks of school. We are having our lessons at QEII.

In previous years when we had swimming lessons at school I enjoyed getting on an inflatable boat and wearing our pjs on the last 2 days of school swimming because it felt like a treat at the end and it was a fun way to end the week.

Something that I have enjoyed this week is getting to go in the deep pool because I know I’ve been improving compared to last year where I was still in the middle sized pool.

Something that I have found hard this week is swimming in the second lane where it was 1.6 instead of 1.3 meters deep. I felt it was a bit scary knowing that if we needed to stop in the middle we could not grab onto the side because there was no side.

Something that I want to improve on next week is being more comfortable with swimming in deep pools because that is sure to help me swim in oceans or rivers.

Every year we have buddies this year we had the smallest kids ever they were year 5s and 6s. I felt super proud walking down to the bus with my buddy grasping my hand I felt like a babysitter. So I felt I needed to try hard to entertain her on the bus drawing on the window playing eye spy and more. When she told me her name I thought it was tricky to say it took me 4 days to remember how to say it correctly. Oshika (sorry if i spelt it wrong) it was pronounced oh-she-ka. She was bouncy, playful and a chatterbox. I loved the way she wasn’t afraid to point out any tiny detail that she thought mattered. It was fun talking non stop. I think it is amazing knowing a person like her.

Do u like swimming?

I’m also very thankful to my swimming teacher so a special thank you to her!

Thank u Bye.
