4. A supernova shock wave can trigger the formation of new stars.
5.  Astronomers estimate there are 100 billion galaxies in the known universe, that means somewhere in our universe a star goes supernova every five to ten seconds.

Have you learnt some splashing new facts!?

Hi there everyone its Ava again,

And guess what I’ll be sharing with you today,  MY NETBALL GAME!  On Thursday the 25th me and my netball team headed to our bus. Off we went laughing and chattering away. We were all pumped about the up coming game and all eagerly hopped out off the bus. It was a bit off a long walk to Hagley Courts but we managed. This week Harper K was the captain,  shes one of my friends. Here she is:

For the first quarter I was a sub then I was defence, sub and attack. My favourite position is attack  because I scored one out of two goals. Our final score was 6/2 Rowley scored 6 and we scored 2 even though we lost we still had a blast.

 

My netball team

My netball team is called the Hornets, hornets are a type of wasp cool right and they look like this!

We are the c team and in the team there is Me, Lucy .F, Monica, Harper.K, Lexi, Nia, Ava.W, Ainsley, Bella, and Kiriana.

 

Do you do winter sport?

It was dawn, Alec had awoken to the sound of chirping birds sweetly singing lullabies. 

“Come on Alec you’re going to be late!“ called mum. 

“Mum, I don’t want to go to London“. Alec hated traveling, she loved sports, running, and jumping because it made her feel alive, not like flying 7 hours  around the country to visit some city. 

“Alec come on, dad even gave london a nickname Lovely Londen  “ whispered mum.

‘Fine‘ said Alec.

 

Alec and her sister Alaska lived in a small old cottage so old vines had covered it almost completely. Anna, the girl’s mum, had insisted they go to London for a week to visit their dad. As Alec walked outside she seemed very aware of her surroundings. She could hear every little bug buzzing and jiggling.She also could feel a little tingle which told her some critters were crawling around in the gorgeous grass.

 

A few hours later, they were at the airport. Alec noticed two other girls waiting in line to board the plane. They were wearing name tags. One was called Madeline and she was beautiful. Her long golden hair danced in the sunlight. The second girl was called Indigo. She looked quite young since she was still clutching a little bunny toy.

Boarding now shouted a man in a tall suit. His voice sounded stern like it was trapped in a suitcase . 

“Quick girls, that’s your flight now. Have fun, and Alec look after your sister. Love you, bye“ called mum. Alec lolleped towards the gate dragging a small carry on.

 

“Watch out!”. The little girl was throwing a huge fit. Alec was amused. “What did you do to my sister?”. The blonde girl had whipped her hair so violently the stout pilot got a shock and dropped his hat. Alec had frozen to the roots of her feet, watching as Indigo was getting smothered in hugs.

 

”Sissy what are you doing?”. Alaska was tugging her arm tightly and with one big whirl of power she shoved her sister into a block of seats like a lion dragging its cubs away. She climbed over and rested her eyes upon her tablet.  

“Arrrrrrg”. What a yawn Alec thought to herself, I might just rest my eyes here for a second.CRASH! THUMP! BANG! What was happening? It hurt so much Alec thought her insides were being yanked out of her. There was lots of crying, screaming, and yelling. Suddenly, she blacked out. 

 

Gurgle gurgle gurgle 

“Pffff’ yuck ! Where am I? Who are you ? “stop yelling girl or should I say boy”  

“Help!” said a small voice Alaska? A ray of sunshine hit and oh my goddess what did you do to my sister sis don’t worry it’s a joke hahaha.

 

 Unexpectedly the full impact hit them bouncy bulging bananas flying fantastic frogs and beautiful blissful butterflies .”Oh a joke ah any way im not a boy im a tomboy“ “whatever“ “Any way let’s find some water and a shelter. I’m getting thirsty.”

“Me too,” piped up Indigo. So they marched off a race against the clock.

 

 Alec imagined if it was dark by the time they found a shelter. Flomp! “Ahhhhhh! What’s wrong, are you hurt?” no just awww look “ a baby panda was lying on alaska’s tummy .

“I’m going to name you Mango.”

“Quick we found the river “ called maddie. 

 

The river bed was small, squishy and smelt more blue than green . Splosh everyone jumped in at the same time. Suddenly a dark musty shadow slithered towards them .Then it hit her

 “Get back to sure there’s a bull shark, “ instructed Alec. Alec and Maddie shoved the two little girls onto land “errrrah” an elephant had picked them up and placed them right on his back. After a few minutes they were on land once again “ close call” let’s not try that again giggled Maddie .

 

 “I’m tired, let’s find a shelter.”

 After stomping in the jungle for a few hours they found a little cabin that was old and run down “stay back“ demanded maddie . But Indigo didn’t hear her, she had gone creeping round the back “come quick” I found a door it’s open. Pitter patter “ oh wow” “ let’s do a fixer upper” smiled Alec “what’s that?” “ It’s a project where we make use of what we’ve got and the show originally was set on a budget and time limit to turn ew into ah “ explained maddie with a straight face . “Let’s do it! “. As time passed the girls worked hard to make this dream come true . ” ek fire “ “ what “ a fire was starting Alaska guessed it was the power box in the old rusty shed which she now used as an art studio .

 

 “ oh no my art” Alaska raced  towards the shed like a cheater in a marathon . She made it just in time to see all her art smoldering in the fire. She was so upset she cried a lake up .”We will help make more art “ whispered maddie .So that afternoon they worked like a pack of house elves cleaning the shed and replacing the black ashs with colorful birds and rainbows . “ I love it, “ laughed Alaska .

 

” Now what were you saying about a power box “ smirked maddie ” wait power box, did you bring your phone ?” “yeah “ suddenly they all sprinted towards the shed Wifi at last a way to contact a rescue team . All of them waited in silence .A few minutes later pa ting! “They texted back “ “ They are sending a team now “ The group made three fires just like maddies scout book had said . 

 

 

Hunk!! “ A boat quick “ there on the doc was there mums and dads and other siblings “ oh how we missed you darling” screamed Anna she sounded like an angry bull saying prayers .Mum get off i’m already 16 “ joked Alec .Maddie however was asking her dad to buy her a new iphone because hers was damaged when they fell from the plane .Indigo was asking her mum to take her on a private trip to a tropical island with her best friends nancy, Ilsa and ruby and alaska well she was telling the whole world about their trip. As for Alec she was in a little corner reading her favorite novel which was about four explorers trapped in a tropical jungle.

 

Now kids get into bed and the storys over. “ Mum, I want to be just like you, “ giggled Emma .“ I liked that story but we never heard what happened to the rest of them after” groaned Alex .“ Night kids sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite “. 

 

That night Emma dreamed of the story her mum had told her she loved the feeling of being adventurous and out there . her brother on the other hand was small and hated everything new . Emma wondered what her brother wanted to be when he grew up because she definitely wanted to be the best explorer possible . And just like that all of them were fast asleep dreaming of wonders the next days would bring like sleepy sloths .

                             Vertical farming

Vertical farming is an amazing sustainable and easy way to improve the amount of organic fruits and vegetables.

Why do they do Vertical Farming?                                                                                                                                                                                      well i guess they do it because the fruit wont get as much bugs on them and they wont get affected by the weather and  They are a organic fruit that means they will not have any spray on them It also means they are controlled by people who monitor there health.      It is quite different to normal farming because normal farming is outside where there is a lot more dangers like floods.The benefits about vertical farming is that the food is moniterd and won´t be harmed by other animals. The only downsides are that it can be very expensive to buy all the equipment and a large space to store them in.

                                  Transport

Some of the more sustainable transport options would be biking riding a bus or driving in an EV car or better yet!! Walking!!                  This is making a huge positive impact lessening the cause of fossil fuels. because cars use a lot of petrol witch is quite bad .I think me and my family could make an impact by not using as much petrol and trying to tell there friends about it.

 

 

This week our hub did a colour wheel. It is where we find objects around our space to create a rainbow wheel. The most interesting thing about it was how everybody had different ideas and added new unique features to our wheel. In this activity we were running around the space looking at anything that we would find useful. We had maths equipment which was surprisingly colourful.

 

We also used maths tiles which we previously had used for fractions. The best thing about it was that everybody got to pick at least one thing and then the rest of group would alter it.

Later on we talked about secondary and primary colours. The primary colours are the main colours of red, yellow and blue.

The secondary colours are shades like pink purple and orange.
